Who is Team 811?
Team 811

Team 811 is Bishop Guertin High School's FIRST Robotics Competition team. We were started in 2002, although our roots go back to 1993. Over the years we have competed successfully in regional and championship competitions in Manchester NH, New Haven CT, Orlando FL, Houston TX, and Atlanta GA, as well as several off-season competitions. But our success is measured not so much in the numerous trophies and accolades we've received, but in the long list of students who've done amazing things after graduating from our team.

What is FIRST?
FIRST

FIRST (an acronym meaning For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an annual high school competition that encourages students to explore science and technology. Founded by Dean Kamen in 1989, the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) gives teams of students just six weeks to design, build, and ship a functioning robot to complete tasks in a tournament setting. The teams then compete with and against other teams at regional venues, and ultimately at the Championship Event in Atlanta.

The Xerox Creativity Award

The Xerox Creativity Award celebrates creative design, use of a component, or a creative or unique strategy of play. Whether you want to call it "thinking outside the box" or "pushing the envelope" this winning team demonstrates that it has creatively gone beyond the norm in tackling this year's game challenge.
Who says you can't do it? Low cost and lightweight, this Noisy Cricket pushed the envelope. No strings attached. Congratulations to Team 811, the Cardinals of Bishop Guertin High School!
