Team 811 is Bishop Guertin High School's FIRST Robotics Competition team. We were started in 2002, although our roots go back to 1993. Over the years we have competed successfully in regional and championship competitions in Manchester NH, New Haven CT, Orlando FL, Houston TX, and Atlanta GA, as well as several off-season competitions. But our success is measured not so much in the numerous trophies and accolades we've received, but in the long list of students who've done amazing things after graduating from our team.

FIRST (an acronym meaning For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an annual high school competition that encourages students to explore science and technology. Founded by Dean Kamen in 1989, the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) gives teams of students just six weeks to design, build, and ship a functioning robot to complete tasks in a tournament setting. The teams then compete with and against other teams at regional venues, and ultimately at the Championship Event in Atlanta.

Team 811 and its robot Calctro (Latin for "iKick") joined 47 other teams at the Manchester Verizon Arena for the BAE Systems Granite State Regional Competition. The team did well overall, achieving a record of 6-3-1 in spite of above average penalties.
It should be noted that in all our long history, we've never won as many matches, nor lost as few matches, in a regional competition. Congratulations on a good robot and a good performance!
